JoAnne Sommers I came to brain enhancement as a result of a concussion I sustained when I fainted and struck my head on a hard ceramic floor. The concussion was a blessing in disguise because it helped me to realize that my brain needed training to help me overcome lifelong challenges with anxiety and depression. Paddy Kamen influenced me to follow this path, and as a writer and researcher I find the subject professionally captivating as well as profoundly helpful in my personal life.
JoAnne was born in Montreal, and raised in Sudbury, Ontario. She lived in Toronto and environs for many years and re-located to B.C. in 2007. JoAnne has a B.A. in psychology from Carleton University and has worked in communications marketing and journalism, including positions with Nortel Networks and Rogers Publishing. True to her roots, JoAnne is a die-hard hockey fan and cheers for the ‘Habs’, aka the Montreal Canadians.
