On the Personal Side:
I became interested in brain science after experiencing the power of neurofeedback, about five years ago. Neurofeedback is biofeedback for the brain. I was amazed at how much it improved my focus, stress response and mood. I’ve also discovered the significance for myself and many others of food/drink influences on cognition and mood. For me, caffeine is a depressant; a good friend gets horribly depressed when she eats dairy products from cows, and another friend finds that gluten is the culprit. My experiences and subsequent reading (particularly ‘The Brain That Changes Itself” by Norman Doidge) motivated me to want to further explore this field and to share interesting and useful information with people like you.
I hope you enjoy the magazine. I’m interested in your feedback and input. If you have article ideas or would like to try your hand at writing an article, please get in touch with me, whether you’re a professional or someone who has an interesting brain-related personal story.
Warm regards,
Paddy
